We are looking for a Strategy Manager (m/f/d) at Allianz Commercial in Munich or Hamburg.

Your Team 
Within Allianz Commercial Chief Finance Office (CFO) – Global Performance Steering (GPS), the Commercial Steering team is a key financial and strategic advisor for the aggregated Allianz Commercial portfolio consisting of Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty Large Corp & Specialty business and the Mid Corp business of other Allianz entities. This team enables an overarching view of performance via effective financial reporting and portfolio investigations, it drives a consistent steering and target setting approach and develops a forward-looking strategic direction for the Commercial portfolio together with other Finance or Underwriting areas as well as various Group or regional centers. In this role, you will be reporting to the Head of Commercial Steering.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• Provide financial analyses and assessments for the IFRS 17 result performance across the Commercial regions, entities and lines of business
• Perform in-depth portfolio analyses in close conjunction with other central or regional finance departments, underwriting or portfolio managers, and with the aim to steer Allianz Commercial towards agreed financial and strategic targets
• Prepare aggregated portfolio assessments based on comprehensive steering cycle activities, i.e. overlook performance drivers, risks and opportunities and derive appropriate steering initiatives
• Act as an ambassador for specific regions, entities or lines of business, and develop a deep understanding of their respective performance and outlook
• Prepare strategic discussions and convey key messages or recommendations towards the senior management of Allianz Commercial, relevant Group centers or other stakeholders, and respond reliably to ad-hoc requests from these customers
• Co-develop an efficient and reasonable cost monitoring and recharging process across all Commercial entities
• Support corporate strategy reviews like vertical strategic or planning dialogues, with the aim to influence target setting
• Drive best practice sharing and increase efficiencies, co-develop and harmonize global standards across all Commercial organizational entities (OE) together with other finance, underwriting or TEX areas

What You’ll Bring to the Role

• University degree in Economics, Mathematics or similar
• 5+ years of work experience, preferably in finance, underwriting, actuarial or risk management of an Allianz P&C insurance or reinsurance entity
• Strong analytical competency and ability to work with large data sets, attention to detail and skills for the creation of concise and visual result presentations
• Comprehensive understanding of commercial and specialty insurance business and the financial interpretation of an IFRS17 P&L, result orientation and a strategic mindset
• Demonstrated experience in financial planning and performance management of an insurance entity
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written, and the ability to effectively interpret and present findings to a variety of stakeholders, including senior management
• Strong networking and influencing skills, the ability to understand the interconnectivities around the diverse global organization and a passion to interact with various stakeholders
• Successfully leading or contributing to larger projects
• Proactive and reliable mindset
• Proficient level of English, any other languages advantageous
